What temperature should I keep my thermostat set to in the Summer?

For San Antonio, a normal cooling set point is 75 degrees.  We recommend setting the FAN position to AUTO.

How much do you charge for a service call?

For residential service calls we charge $49 during normal business hours, and $89 for after-hours calls.

How often do I need to change my air filters?

This really depends on the type of filter you have, but for typical 1” pleated filters you want to change them out about every 1-2 months

If my AC is not working, what should I check before calling a professional?

What is a capacitor?

A capacitor is an electrical device connected to a motor or compressor that gives an electrical “boost” to help start and keep it running.

Why are some rooms hot and cold?

There could be building issues like poorly installed windows, but typically it is due to duct work design and installation.  For example, ducts need to be properly sized to deliver the correct amount of air to each room.

What is SEER?

SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and is a way to measure the efficiency of an AC system, similar to how MPG (Miles Per Gallon) measures the efficiency of a car.  For conventional ducted systems 14 SEER is the minimum, with some systems exceeding 20 SEER.

Do you offer financing on new systems?

Yes, we have several different options ranging from short term no-interest to long term (120 months) with a low APR.

Does my AC need preventative maintenance?

We recommend preventative maintenance to help extend the life of your system, and to keep it operating safely and efficiently.  It will also let us identify issues before they become major headaches.
